Leeds Rhinos 34 – 10 Wigan Warriors
Tonight Wigan Warriors went to Leeds to play the Rhinos, Wigan fielded an unchanged side from last weekend, a side that performed superbly against a very poor Bradford team, and this was going to be a big test.
Leeds Rhinos were superb while Wigan were pretty damn poor, just about the whole first half was awful by the Warriors, a slight ray of hope came only in the last few minutes of the first half when Wigan seemed to wake up from a deep slumber.
The half time score was 22 – 6 to the Rhinos and we hoped Wigan could build in the second half on the last few minutes of the first.
Wigan came out in the second half and looked decent for about two minutes, but they soon lapsed again, Leeds took a hold again and it all went downhill from there onwards.
The Warriors made far too many mistakes throughout the game, both in defence and going forward and Leeds dominated in every way possible.
Simply as an example of the difference between the Warriors last week compared to this week I will use Gareth Hock, as good as he was last week (I called him magnificent) he was terrible this week, I’m not picking on Hock only, every player in a Cherry and White shirt tonight was poor, everyone.
The final score tonight was 34 – 10 to the Rhinos, I have to be honest, I would rather the Warriors hadn’t decided to put on such a comedy performance for Red Nose Day as they did here, it was quite abysmal.
